Wandering around the Sogo department store in Yokohama, I kept spotting interesting things.

They still have the Yoichi 10 Year.

Grabbed it without a second thought.

This is a dessert shop from a brand called Marlowe.

They sell a lot of fun desserts. Apparently it’s a café that’s been running in Yokohama for quite a while, and building the whole concept around Philip Marlowe is a great touch. Maybe it’s a bayside thing.

The biscotti looked good, so I bought a box.

They actually tasted better than they looked. I’d happily buy them again.

Foundry’s cakes

There was such a gorgeous cake that I had to buy one. Apparently they only sell it at Sogo Yokohama.

They say they use only the finest Japanese fruit.

Just look at that sheen..

This is the Mont Blanc

It looks so good.

The apples are art too

So are the pears..

Looks like a photo of an art piece.

I couldn’t buy everything, so picking just three was seriously hard..

Choosing is always the hardest part.

They sell pudding too.

Well.. one bite and it all made sense. A shop like this deserves a tour through every kind.. Call it a serious rival to Qu’il fait bon..

Passing by, I spotted Miwako Kakei, so I snapped a photo.

In person she was, well, a bit so-so.

The bakery that used to be in Omotesando (Jean François) is now in Yokohama’s underground mall.

It’s a decent bakery.

Turns out Yokohama is bursting with charm too. I’d love to go back.
