Of all the places I ate at while working around City Hall, the two I loved most were this one, Aesung Hoegwan, and Won Daegutang. Jungnimjang was great value, the old-school heavyweights like Cheongjinok and Burimok were excellent, and Wonheung was tasty too, but if I had to pick a top two, it would be those two.
This is the place.
The lunchtime queue is ridiculously long, but turnover is fast too. Maybe because there is a bank nearby, a high proportion of the crowd was in suits.
Gomtang
They say they use only hanwoo beef, and it is slightly sweet and really delicious. It showed me a whole new level of gomtang.
On my second visit I ordered the special.
Very satisfying. A place I would recommend to anyone.
