A Four Seasons hotel has opened in Gwanghwamun. Korea finally has a proper six-star hotel. As someone who has plenty of complaints about five-star hotel service, I couldn’t be happier. Since it’s a hotel in Seoul, I have no idea when I’ll actually get to stay a night, but for now I dropped by the restaurant floor and bought some cake.
The hotel
There’s even an objet like this…
Cakes
Plenty of hotels do desserts badly, but this place does them well.
Roughly these kinds of cakes
Chocolates and macarons too…
There are large-size cakes as well.
They sell bread too…
It’s cheap, but the taste was more so-so than I’d expected. Not recommended…
The lobby
Gorgeous. Someday I’ll stay a night here.
The cakes I brought home
The chocolate cake is really delicious. The other cake isn’t bad either.
Roughly this kind of cake too…
And this kind of cake…
The atmosphere is nice and they have a sale after 7 pm, so if you live in Gangbuk it’s worth a visit. For reference, if you buy a cake and eat it in the lounge it’s 3,000 won extra, which is incredibly cheap considering the service. It’s probably the perfect chance to experience six-star service. Also, the lounge sells cake until midnight, so keep that in mind…
