Inaniwa Yosuke, an Inaniwa Udon Specialist near City Hall Station

Inaniwa Yosuke is a well-known inaniwa udon house from Japan. In Korea, a soba or udon shop brings to mind a noodle specialist, but in Japan a lot of them are actually izakaya. You have drinks with a variety of dishes and then finish with udon or soba. This place follows that concept too.

The entrance

Inaniwa udon is a dried noodle, so they can sell it as gifts like this. Cook it properly and you can get almost the same taste at home.

Otoshi and a lemon sour

inaniwa yosuke

These days I find myself drinking sours more often than beer. My tastes have shifted a bit.

Kushikatsu

With so much sauce on top and a fairly thick coating, I did not expect much, but they must use good ingredients because it tasted pretty good.

Sake of the day: Bizan

I ordered it because it was cheap, but the taste was so-so.. I wish Korean izakaya also carried cheap and tasty shochu like Tomi no Hozan.

Grilled skewers

Pretty tasty skewers for a place that does not specialise in them.

Nodoguro nitsuke (simmered in soy sauce)

inaniwa yosuke

I had it once in a while when I lived in Japan, and it seems to be arriving in Korea these days too. Nodoguro is good as shioyaki (salt-grilled) as well, but nitsuke is where it really shines. The fish was on the small side, but it was cooked well and I enjoyed it.

Salmon onigiri

I ordered it because it seemed like it would go well with the nitsuke.

And this is what happened.

inaniwa yosuke

Well.. put rice into a sweet soy broth and there is no way it will not taste good.

Noodles to finish

inaniwa yosuke

You have to order udon when you come to an udon house. It is the same taste I used to have in Japan. The zaru udon in particular was great.

Ice cream

Apart from the drinks being a little pricey, it is a really good place. It seemed especially popular with Japanese customers. It is big too, so it should work for group gatherings.. Then again, I do not often have a reason to go to City Hall. If anything, I seem to have more reasons to go to Tokyo..

The FBI at Angel’s Share

A sweet, strong and delicious cocktail with ice cream in it. That wrapped up a successful meetup for the day.
