I was in the middle of eating ramen in Tsukiji when a meetup in Ginza suddenly came up. Yes, I am that busy a man. I was asked to recommend a good place in Ginza, and after mulling it over, Kissa YOU came to mind. It has long been famous for its omurice, but I rarely have reason to go around there, so I had all but forgotten about it. Well.. once you are in Ginza, there are plenty of better places to eat anyway.
Salad and soup
I believe it was consomme.
Omurice
A classic omurice. Cut it open and the half-cooked egg oozes out. The standard-bearer for this style of omurice is Taimeiken, and I thought Taimeiken was a notch above.
A drink
It was far more crowded than I expected, and the overwhelming majority were foreign tourists. It must be in some travel guidebook. The food was not bad, but it was not all that impressive either. I cannot understand why people queue up like that, and I probably will not be going back.
