An açaí bowl specialist has opened on trendy Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong. I tried açaí bowls in Hawaii last year and was won over by the fresh taste that seems healthy (it isn’t really), and now there’s one in Korea too. Honestly, all you need is açaí juice and they’re simple to make, so I figured one would pop up somewhere eventually, but I didn’t expect it to show up so soon and so close to home. With wellness being the trend these days it seems to be pretty popular, so I dropped by on the weekend.
Outside
Usually the tables are packed and people even line up, but it was raining that day so there weren’t many people. Fine by me, since I got to eat in a calm atmosphere.
The counter
There’s the Sambazon açaí juice I saw everywhere in Hawaii. Honestly, with just that you could easily enjoy the taste of Hawaii at home~
Roughly what it looks like
There are Handy, Regular and Large sizes, and if you want it as a meal replacement you’d have to order the Large. I can’t tell whether the prices are expensive or cheap.
There’s a pop-art painting too.
The Regular açaí bowl finally arrived
It’s all açaí underneath with fruit on top. The taste was 100% identical to what I had in Hawaii. It was good, but the reason this place has gotten to the point of having lines is surely the wellness boom going on lately. A healthy juice shop has opened up right next door too. I suspect the demand will keep on going for a while.
