I accidentally posted these in the wrong order. Please read this one as a continuation of the Yeongdong jokbal post..

After a good jokbal dinner we moved on to Myeongdong, but there weren’t many places worth going to. So we walked into an easy chicken place, and even though it was on the 3rd floor, most of the tables were still full late at night. Koreans’ love of chicken really is something special.

Draft beer

You have to have chimaek (chicken and beer), the pride of Korea, at least once. Japan has Korean-style chicken too, but it’s just not as good as in Korea.

Half and half

Among the chicken I’ve had lately, Yonghwa Banjeom is the best of the best.. well.. I shouldn’t expect too much. Maybe because I ate it knowing it had been brined by injection, it definitely tasted better. Thanks to a few TV programmes aired earlier this year I learned a lot about chicken and injection beef, though I’m not sure whether I should be grateful for that or not..

We ordered some sausages too.

It’s not a gourmet place, so the taste isn’t at a level you’d have high hopes for, but it was fine as a snack to go with drinks. For a place open this late, that’s more than enough.

We ate a moderate amount and came out, and it was really hard to catch a taxi. Recession or not, people who drink will drink.
