It was the day before we left, so we had to have as much fun as we could with no regrets, right? We went to Waikiki Beach. Thinking back on it now, I wish we had bought some beach gear at an ABC Store.. it was a little disappointing that we came unprepared.

The waves sparkling in the sunlight are beautiful. I brought a waterproof phone case this time and it came in really handy. I would call it a must-have for playing in the water.

There were some waves.

No big waves were rolling in, but it was not exactly calm either. Not that it got in the way of having fun.

Waikiki Beach is longer than I expected, so we wandered up and down, taking photos and swimming. Something I saw in passing: a big, burly Black guy brought a bottle of whiskey onto the beach, and a whole squad of equally burly police officers showed up, fined him, and took him off to the police station. Public safety is as tight as you would expect from America, which makes Waikiki Beach feel all the more reassuring. Korea, on the other hand…
