Tanmen Shakishaki, Kinshicho

Dinner had been a bit skimpy, so I stopped by a tanmen shop in Kinshicho for a late-night bowl on the way home. Tanmen is a light shio ramen loaded with vegetables.

The front entrance

It was late at night, but the place was packed.

I ordered gyoza too.

They were ordinary.

Tanmen

It is piled high with vegetables. The broth is light rather than rich, so it does not weigh you down, and I guess that is the charm of tanmen. Every now and then I get a craving for it.

The noodles

The noodles here were a lot like the ones in Jiro-style ramen. They have a nice springy bite. I ate my fill and called it a day.
