I was out in Kabukicho with a friend, and the place we walked into for a light meal was Ryumon. I had heard the jjamppong was good, so we gave it a try, and it was pretty decent.

The menu

The prices are reasonable. The place looks a bit run-down, but it is open until the small hours, which is nice, and if I came around this neighborhood often I could see becoming a regular.

Fried dumplings

No comparison with the fried dumplings back in Korea. They were big and full of juice, really good.

Jjamppong

There is a bit of wok smokiness, and it is generously loaded. With jjamppong this good, I do not really miss the Korean version. Who knew Japan had a place like this.. Tokyo is huge, and full of surprising little shops.
