Get off at Incheon Station, walk a little, and you come to a fish market held right on the pier. Those in the know know about it and everyone else has no idea, but here you can buy blue crabs fresh off the boat, and the freshness is so outstanding that they taste far better than anything from the markets at Noryangjin or Yeonan Pier. The downsides are that it is hard to get to and the prices are not exactly cheap.

People have gathered to match the time the tide comes in. There is nowhere in particular to rest, so everyone just stands around. No shade either, and it was a hot time of year, so it was a bit of an ordeal.

At last a boat comes in.

There is barely room for a single boat to squeeze in, yet they keep pushing through.

Freshly caught, so the freshness is superb.

Prices are haggled over and it is loud and lively.

So many people came. They must have made the trek to eat something even a little tastier. No matter how good a supermarket is, it can never match the taste from a market like this.

Blue crabs

Back home I made blue crab stew, and the meat of the fresh crabs was really sweet. A step up from anything bought at a supermarket or a regular market. All that effort paid off.
