It was the weekend, so I headed to Omotesando for pancakes. bills is famous overseas, and in Japan it has branches in Omotesando and Odaiba.
Kirin draft beer
I was partly in the mood for a pleasant daytime drink anyway, but all the other drinks were so expensive that the draft beer actually turned out to be the cheaper option. I guess it comes with the concept of a restaurant at a luxury resort.
French fries
I ordered these as a side for the sandwich, and they were really good. Nothing like your usual frozen fries. It was a rediscovery of the French fry. They went perfectly with the beer.
Steak sandwich
It does not seem to be wagyu, but the quality of the meat is decent. The sandwich was tasty, and maybe because the sun was so warm, it felt like I was on holiday at some fancy resort.
Pancakes
The pancakes were incredibly fluffy, as if made from good ingredients. They went well with the butter too. Not overly sweet, so they seemed just right for breakfast, or for brunch. Still, while the pancakes on their own are at a very high level, I personally preferred Kaila, with all those berries piled on top. A matter of taste, I suppose.
Now only Eggs ‘n Things is left before I have done the rounds of all the famous pancake places in Tokyo, but I have no idea when I will find the time. Eggs ‘n Things has the longest line at the moment, so it will probably be a good while yet.
