Yasubee, famous for its tsukemen, has plenty of branches, but you also see shops influenced by Yasubee all over the city. It is popular enough to form its own lineage, like Jiro. There is a Yasubee-style ramen shop in Asakusa too, so I went to check it out.
The front entrance
From the outside I could not really tell it was Yasubee-style. The food is good, but the location probably helps too, because it was packed even at a late hour.
Ramen
Instead of tsukemen I tried the ramen, and the broth was clean and refreshing, pretty good. The thick noodles are hearty too.
Tsukemen
One look at the bowl and you know it is Yasubee-style. The noodles were wonderfully springy. Hardly any different from the main Yasubee shop.
The dipping broth
Almost the same taste as the main Yasubee shop. There is a slight sourness that whets the appetite. The plain ramen was decent enough, but the tsukemen is definitely better.
Gyoza
These were ordinary.
Of the ramen shops worth visiting near my place, Ito is the best, but its short opening hours make it hard to go often. Even if it is not at famous-shop level, a place like this is fine now and then.
