Naniwaya is the place in Azabu-Juban famous for its taiyaki. They have a branch in Asakusa, so I went there for a little dessert after lunch.
The front entrance
It sits on the back side of Asakusa, off the routes tourists usually take. That makes it quiet, which is nice for a weekend visit.
Taiyaki
Fun dish. A taiyaki stuffed with plenty of Hokkaido red bean paste is bound to be good, but it was still hot out, so I was not really in the mood for it. Taiyaki really is a winter treat.
Kakigori, shaved ice
Summer means shaved ice~ As you would expect from a taiyaki specialist, they sell one topped with sweet red beans. To my taste, though, Korean bingsu is better.
A walk
After dessert on top of everything else, I had gone way over my calorie budget, so a walk was in order. The Sumida River looks lovely as always.
