Odaiba is famous as a tourist spot, but it also has big shopping malls and is easy to reach by car, which makes it a handy place to go shopping. I had a lot of things to buy on this trip to Japan, so I ended up dropping by myself.

Menya Kookai
Once I had finished my shopping I was wondering what to eat, and this is where I went in. It is a fairly well-known chain in Tokyo, and it turns out they have a branch in Venus Fort. I had meant to lay off ramen shops for diet reasons, but I looked through all the good places around there and nothing really appealed.
Shio ramen
Tokyo’s ramen scene these days seems to be levelling up across the board. Even a chain shop like this is really good. The chashu and the ajitama were nice too.
The noodles
Boiled just right, with a firm bite.
Extra noodles
I ordered a regular size and it still left me wanting a bit more, so I asked for a kaedama. Most ramen shops do not let you order extra noodles, so it seems to be a feature unique to this place.
