On the last day I staked out the best spot at the pool first thing in the morning.

The weather was cloudy, but it was still fun. It would have been lovely if the clear skies of day two had kept up, but for a trip in the rainy season it was an enjoyable one.

There was hardly anyone around, so we pretty much had it all to ourselves.

The Shangri-La Boracay opened in 2009, and maybe because it is still fairly new, the facilities were really nice.

It rained a little and then a rainbow came out. A farewell greeting, perhaps.
Lunch
We checked out of the Shangri-La and came to White Beach for lunch. Boracay has a seafood market, and we ate at the restaurant right in front of it. It was tastier than it looked. Of all the meals we had outside the resort in Boracay, this was my favorite.

At breakfast they told us the mangoes had run out, so we missed out and, still feeling cheated, stopped by a shop and bought a whole pile. The prices really were cheap.

White Beach
We wandered along White Beach until we ran out of places to go, so we settled into a nicely air-conditioned Starbucks and rested.

Maybe because it is not the dry season, there were hardly any bikini beauties to be seen.. Not that I particularly minded..
Back at the resort
We had to use the Shangri-La jetty to get across to Caticlan, so we headed back to the resort. By this point the rain was pouring down.

We were leaving soon, so cloudy weather was no real problem for the trip. If anything it had a certain force to it.

Goodbye, Boracay
And with that our fun Boracay trip came to an end. We got on the bus to Kalibo International Airport.

We went back to the place where we had bibimbap on the first day.

It tastes a lot like what we eat back in Korea. Better than the local food, which was not good. After the meal we got taken in a little: the guide said there was no duty-free shop at Kalibo airport, so if we wanted Boracay souvenirs this was the only place, and we bought all sorts of things at the shop behind the restaurant, only to discover there was a duty-free shop after all. -_- Well, the trip itself was fine so it is no big deal, but it did leave a bit of a taste.

There were an enormous number of people queueing at the international airport for the night flights. It took quite a while to get through the entry procedures. And once we were inside the airport, there was the duty-free shop. We could hardly go back out and complain.. I had a look around to see if there was anything good, but there was nothing I particularly wanted. On the other hand, there are items like imported spirits that sell at absurdly high normal prices in Korea, so for ordinary purposes it is not bad at all.
We left at night and arrived in the morning. It was a tiring trip, but a really enjoyable one. I would like to go back. Next time booking it all myself rather than as a package.
