The first day was entirely eaten up by getting there, but for day two we decided to keep the whole day free. White Beach, which we had checked out the day before, did not really grab me, so I settled on staying at the hotel from morning till night. Whatever we ended up doing, it had to start with a solid breakfast.
The sea in the morning
Step out of an aggressively air-conditioned hotel room and the lens fogs right up.
All sorts of bread
Plenty of variety and the taste was excellent, better than most Seoul hotels. This is exactly why a Southeast Asia trip comes down to booking a good hotel: it solves the food question in one shot.
Fruit
The bananas and the mangoes were fully ripe and really delicious. A completely different level from what you get in Korea. I loved the mangoes so much I had several at a time.
Kids’ menu
It is the dessert spread. Cute, sure, but I am not so sure it is okay to give kids this stuff.
Salad bar
Look closely and there is even kimchi..
Juices
Fresh juices in several varieties as well.
Omelette
An omelette made to order. A decent option, but there was something better on offer, so it got pushed aside.
Pancakes and toast griddled to order
The toast here is a bit different from the toast back home.
Done
Top it with clotted cream and maple syrup and it is complete. Piping hot pancakes and toast straight off the griddle could not possibly taste bad. It is not in the photos, but I also tried the breakfast waffle, and it was even better than the pancakes. From the second day on I skipped the pancakes and ordered the waffle and toast instead.
Rice noodle toppings
I ordered a bowl to settle yesterday’s San Miguel.
A bowl of noodles
Ahh~ that is the stuff.
Fruit dessert
The ripe mangoes were so good that on this trip I genuinely ate until I was about to burst. I love you, mango~
