As the weather heats up, occasions to go out for samgyetang start coming around. Jiho Hanbang Samgyetang sits in the alley of seolleongtang and haejangguk houses in Sinsa-dong. It isn’t especially famous and it isn’t cheap either, but the samgyetang that came out was pretty good. The room is calm, too, so it would work well for a get-together.
Ginseng liquor
It comes as an aperitif, and it goes down smoothly without the bitterness ginseng usually has. Takeout looked possible, but I had another appointment that day, so I held back.

Samgyetang
It’s a fair amount of food, but it was substantial and the broth was rich, so it was delicious. The most satisfying samgyetang I’ve had in a while.
Sujeonggwa for dessert
The price is pretty steep so I can’t go as far as strongly recommending it, but if you’re nearby and wilting in the heat, it might be just the thing. This day someone else was treating, which made me even happier.
