I went to this place after seeing Ye-x’s post about it. It seems to have been famous in the Apgujeong food alley for a long time. This will probably be the last of my Seoul sundae-guk posts — the other places are just too far to go out of my way for.
Front entrance
It looks pretty run-down. The Daegam Wang Jokbal place next door is supposed to be very famous too, and it’s a bit of a shame I didn’t get to try it. Though I doubt any jokbal place could beat Manjok Jokbal.
The sundae I got to go
On my first visit I was in a hurry, so I got the sundae to go and ate it at home as a late-night snack. They serve proper sundae here.

The sundae was better than I expected, so I made a point of going back for the sundae-guk.
It comes out bubbling away furiously.
The broth isn’t quite top-tier, but it’s pretty good.

Perfect with soju. Serious drinkers would love it. The sundae is good, but the sundae-guk was a bit ordinary. To wrap up all the sundae-guk places I’ve been around to, I think Seoil Sundae was probably the best one. Though considering how easy it is to get to, Namsunnam Sundaeguk in Seocho would be the better pick. Well, it doesn’t look like I’ll be making special trips for sundae in Seoul anymore. Although I’d love to take on a famous sundae place out in the provinces sometime..

I thought this year was going to pass without me seeing any cherry blossoms, but I happened to be driving past Yeouido, they caught my eye, and I took a few shots.
