One day in spring I got a craving for Japanese-style curry, but going anywhere far felt like too much hassle, so I went to a curry place by Gangnam Station. Thanks to that laziness I put on a lot of weight in April..

Curry topped with a croquette and karaage
It’s a place that specializes in spicy curry, but I deliberately ordered a non-spicy one, and somehow it had nothing to grab onto. Maybe I just picked the wrong thing off the menu.. The croquette and the karaage, on the other hand, were fried to order and piping hot, and they were good.
Hayashi rice topped with beef
I’m not sure whether hayashi rice with no beef in it is even a thing, but if you want the real deal you have to add a topping separately. I’ve never had hayashi rice anywhere else in Korea so I can’t compare, but it came out in a perfectly ordinary Japanese style, which suited my taste. That said, hayashi rice is a fairly sweet dish to begin with, so I don’t know whether Koreans will take to it.
Osaka Ohsho, opening at Gangnam Station
Osaka Ohsho is a famous Chinese-food chain in Japan. I’m not a particular fan, but when I lived in Japan there was one right in front of my office, so I have memories of eating there now and then. Gyoza no Ohsho is a bit more famous than this one, and cheaper and tastier too, but either way I was startled to hear it was coming to Korea. I wonder if it’ll do well. If it does and Gyoza no Ohsho comes over too, that’d be fun..
