On a weekend evening I was looking for somewhere to eat near Gangnam Station, and the first place that popped into my head was Eulmildae. I was heading that way, but it was so cold that I ducked into the sundaeguk place right in front of me. The whole front is one big pane of glass, and the place was packed. Prices are cheap too, so even if it turned out to be a miss it would be no great loss, and in I went.
The entrance
They’ve blocked off the front so you can’t park there. Not that many people would drive to Gangnam Station anyway. The most basic sundaeguk is 5,700 or 5,900 won, really cheap, and the system is that the price climbs as you add options one by one.

It looks like seolleongtang. It tastes close to seolleongtang too. The beef set is the menu where the sundae comes on a plate of its own.

Maybe because it isn’t glass-noodle sundae, it suits my taste. It’s no great famous house, but if you need to eat around Gangnam Station, there aren’t many places this good.
Pork-bone sundaeguk
Unlike the beef-bone one, this is a sharp, spicy sundae. The flavour is your standard sundae flavour. The filling is decent enough too.
There’s also Namsunnam Sundaeguk near Gangnam Station, but from now on I intend to stay away from glass-noodle sundae where I can, so the next time I feel like sundae I will probably end up here. For Gangnam Station, even this much counts as doing very well.
