Even on a tight travel schedule I still fit in an onsen ryokan. What a busy life this is.. Hamamatsu is about two hours away by Shinkansen. We stayed at an old hotel called Kaishunro, said to be the most famous place in town and to have the best views, and maybe because the hotel is old, it wasn’t all that expensive.
The view over Lake Hamana
There is a giant torii standing right in the middle of the lake. The tide was out, but boats were already going back and forth from early morning.
The view really is lovely.
There is a mixed-gender open-air onsen too, but you have to wear a swimsuit to get in.
Breakfast
Onsen ryokan food, and it was decent enough.
