After leaving the tapas bar Vongo, our second stop was Nari-ui Jip, a samgyeopsal specialist tucked into an alley across the street. It’s shabby but surprisingly big. It seems to stay open late into the night, and even though we got there as our second round, the place was almost full. I never expected to be eating samgyeopsal in Itaewon, but it was unexpectedly delicious. That surprised me all the more.
Samgyeopsal
It looks like frozen samgyeopsal, and I don’t know why, but it had an addictive taste that made me feel I could keep eating forever.
Pajeori (scallion salad)
You really get the full addictive effect when you eat it with the pajeori in the middle. Reasonable prices and good taste.. who knew a place like this was hiding in Itaewon, where all the foreigners gather.
Springbank
This is the single malt I brought along, and considering the price it tastes wonderful.. with just the right amount of peat, too. PROOF refers to the alcohol strength, and 100 PROOF works out to about 56%. Pretty strong, right? After the single malt we also had Toraya yokan for dessert. A fun meetup. ^_^ The next place we went was Castle Praha, but the beer wasn’t as rich as I expected.. I came home completely drunk again that day, so from now on I want to drink more gently.. Then again, lately my workouts are paying off and my body is getting to the point where drinking a lot isn’t much of a problem..
