I had plans to meet someone in Yeoksam-dong, but couldn’t think of anywhere worth going. So I picked the really easy option: the Korean BBQ place in the basement of Gangnam Finance Center.

It’s a modern restaurant. We’d booked ahead and had a set course in a private room. The server brought each dish out with nice timing.

Maybe it’s because we ordered the mid-range lunch course, or maybe it’s just like this, but the food is very ordinary.
Beef
Well… it’s an upscale place, so you have to accept the small portions. Anyone still hungry will just have to fill up at a coffee shop afterwards.

Maybe because we ordered this meat separately, it looks gorgeous.
Naengmyeon
Ordinary. Not bad for eating in summer, I suppose. Actually, Rosehill also runs a naengmyeon specialty shop nearby. I thought about going this summer but never made it. There are just too many other naengmyeon places worth visiting.
Rice and stew
Ordinary again, as expected.
Dessert
Overall it was a very safe choice and a good place for business meals. If taste is what you’re after there’s no reason to make a special trip, but then again, some things in this world matter more than taste.
After the meal I visited the New Engineering Building at Seoul National University for the first time in a while.

It feels like just yesterday that I was studying here, yet over ten years have already passed. With the clear weather, the view of Gwanaksan is lovely. And so the summer of 2011 slowly slipped away.
