Amandier in Anguk-dong might just be the hottest dessert café in Seoul right now. I’d heard so much about it that, as someone who loves desserts, I simply couldn’t stay away.

You’ll spot it right away when you come out of Exit 1 of Anguk Station. It’s written “amandier,” but in Korean they read it “amondie”..
Here is what I ordered.
A cake, a madeleine and an Ispahan. I was told the Ispahan is the house signature. The madeleine fell short of my expectations, and the cake was decent enough.

Ispahan
You could call it an extra-large macaron. It has a delicate fragrance, the shell is nicely chewy and the cream inside is rich. A lovely dessert that really makes the most of what a macaron is about. Who knew I’d find a dessert of this level in Korea, and at a reasonable price at that.. I was very satisfied.
