I was trying to decide what to have for lunch when I heard about a newly opened ramen shop. The tamago kake gohan looked good, so I went to check it out.

The egg is small, but good eggs tend to be on the small side anyway.

It’s a phone camera shot, so the picture quality isn’t great. Once I tasted it, it was really delicious. Partly it’s the good egg, but the crunchy green onion and the nori really bring the flavour to life. The rice is good too, of course. You just mix everything up and eat, but the egg alone gives it plenty of depth.
I ordered the tsukemen.
They told me to squeeze the lemon over the noodles.

They said it was shio tsukemen. It was certainly distinctive, but not a flavour that really grabbed me. I think a more standard style would have been nicer.
