Around mid-December we had a gourmet meetup to welcome the winter. The town I live in now faces the sea, so seafood is plentiful in winter. The idea was to invite some serious foodies from Korea and Tokyo and make the rounds of a few local spots serving seasonal dishes, and as you’d expect, a meetup with people like that was a lot of fun. Detailed reviews will be going up slowly from now on.
It’s a spread-out area, so we planned the eating schedule around our route, and Hazumiya made the cut because it was on the way rather than for its taste.
Soba tea
We picked from the menu over a cup of hot tea first.
Kamo nanban
Hot soba with duck. It’s a bit sweet, which I’m not thrilled about, but maybe because it’s cold in winter, this level of sweetness doesn’t really bother me much.
The noodles were a little weak.
The buckwheat aroma was a bit lacking. Still, it’s a winter treat, so I didn’t have any big complaints.
Soba-yu
I poured in the soba-yu, drank it and got up quickly. We were on a tight schedule, so there was no other choice. Because this place was so convenient for our route, I ended up coming back two days later.
