After a good meal at Pyeongnaeok, I asked one of the members where we should go for round two, and they led us to Caffe Themselves nearby. As the organizer I had barely prepared anything, and I’m really sorry about that. Every time I come back to Korea there’s a mountain of things to deal with, and I can hardly keep my head straight…
Strawberry shortcake
It was just okay. It’s not really my kind of cake… I don’t drink much coffee so I can’t say much about that, but they had a good range of cakes. I’ve been seeing a lot of cafés in this style lately, so I guess it’s a trend.
Tiramisu
It looks like a Mont Blanc, but it’s tiramisu. It has coffee in it, so I can’t eat it. Pass~
Crêpe
It tastes exactly like it looks. My long hermit life has dulled my sense of money, so I can’t casually call anything good value anymore, but it’s a relaxed café you could happily drop into often if you lived nearby. In fact, quite a few people were there on their day off with books to study or with work to do.
Caramels
A little dessert I brought along. This time I brought Joël Robuchon’s soft caramels, which are the latest craze in Tokyo ^_^
As always at our food meetups, round two went off without a hitch, so of course we had to go for round three, right? Those who had to leave left, and the rest of us walked toward the Et M’amie branch in Hyoja-dong.
Gwanghwamun Square
We decided to walk to help our food go down, so we cut across Gwanghwamun Square, and it was quite hot that day. I’m hardly bothered by the weather, but I really worked up a sweat that day.
Lemonade
A cool, refreshing glass of lemonade! The bottle is pretty, and they sell it separately too.

This one’s distinctive as well.
Flower-shaped cake
It looks pretty and tastes good too. But it was a hot day and I’d already had cake at the previous place, so I wasn’t all that into it.
Chocolat chaud
You can tell it’s rich chocolate just by looking at it, and the aroma is deep too. It more than deserves to be their signature item. The menu didn’t seem complete yet, but I’m sure it’ll keep getting better.
Trio of ice creams
Because it was hot! We ordered ice cream, and it’s a flavor a dessert café needn’t be ashamed of. I live in Incheon and work in Gangnam, so I don’t know if I’ll ever have reason to come to this neighborhood again, but anyway, it was a fun experience.
