The garden at the Adachi Museum of Art, which an American garden magazine picks as the best garden in the world every year, is said to look its finest after a snowfall, so this winter I made up my mind and went, even though it was cold and the roads were icy. Yokoyama Taikan was as wonderful as ever. It would have been nice to take my time, have a meal and look around, but I’m always busy, so I didn’t have that luxury and just took photos and came back.
There isn’t much to explain, so just enjoy the photos..
It was overcast, which wasn’t great for taking pictures. I guess expecting a bright, clear day right after enough snow to pile up was asking too much. And if it had been that sunny, the snow would have melted and spoiled the view anyway.. However beautiful a snowy landscape may be.. in practice, I confirmed that shooting on a nice summer day gives far better results.. Well.. from now on, on cold days I’ll just stay holed up in my room..
