Empas Blog, which I liked for being nice and quiet, is apparently shutting down at the end of February, so if I just leave things as they are, everything I’ve posted so far might vanish. Some people seem to have moved out already, and I feel like I’m a bit late, but I’m going to start getting ready bit by bit. The work is just so, so, so tedious, though.
For now I plan to move everything over to Egloos as a backup, but at the moment I have no intention of actually blogging on Egloos. So I think I need to give some more thought to when and how I’ll make the final move.
I looked into the free blog services, and tistory seemed the easiest to get along with. But once I actually tried it, the features were so, so lame (especially the mashups!) that the thought kept growing on me that I’d be better off just using WordPress, the self-installed kind. This may be a blog I end up using for the rest of my life, so I can’t just pick something casually because it’s free..
If some portal – say Yahoo or Daum – would take my blog in, it would save me all the hassle and I’d be really grateful, but the world probably isn’t that easy -_- so I’ll have to find my own way to survive. Right now, a stand-alone type of blog is the most likely outcome. I have no idea where all this deliberating will end up, but I’ll have to think it through a bit harder.
I’m still taking photos these days, but I’ll hold back on uploading as much as possible until the blog problem is sorted out. The move to Egloos will probably happen in February, after the Lunar New Year holidays. I need to get everything done that I have to do before moving to Egloos..
Once I open the new blog, I don’t know whether I’ll be able to keep using large images like I do now. If I can, I couldn’t ask for more.. I’ll just have to test it and see.. It looks like I’ll be going quiet for a while, not by choice, so I’m asking for your understanding in advance. I’ll post another notice before the move.
