I’ve lived in Tokyo for a while, but there were still quite a lot of places I’d never been to, so now that I have some time I’m getting around to visiting them. When you say Kichijoji, the first things that come to mind are the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka and all the stylish shops. There’s Inokashira Park, a fairly big park, so it’s a popular date spot too. With lots of schools around, the whole area is full of youthful energy. Of course it’s also the setting of countless school-gang-fight manga, but I didn’t see anything like that this time.

I didn’t buy a ticket to go inside. I’ll go next time someone visits from Korea.

He was playing an unusual instrument. There are boats on the pond, and the couples were making good use of them. Sigh… all I can do is envy them.
