I’ve been going pretty hard lately, so I had no plans to push myself and party all night, but an acquaintance got in touch asking if I wanted to hit a club together on Friday night… I looked around in a hurry and found that DAISHI DANCE and STUDIO APARTMENT were doing a duet event at ageHa. With the A-team out in force, there was no need to look any further. ageHa it was.
Shin-Kiba isn’t exactly close, but there’s a shuttle from Shibuya. It runs every 30 minutes from 11 p.m. They check your ID and your belongings, so be ready for that, but we got there in no time.
At the capsule event I went to before, the DJs on every floor were top-notch, but this night only the small lounge where DAISHI DANCE was spinning was any good. As a result, disaster struck: everyone crammed into that one spot… Takkyu Ishino seemed to be DJing in the main room, but he just wasn’t doing it for me. They’re normally not this weak…
Skipping the middle part… From midnight until around 6 in the morning, I spent literally the whole night in this cramped lounge, bumping into people and losing myself in the music and the dancing. The sun came up around 4. It was my first time dancing after daybreak. “Beautiful Sunrise,” which played right around dawn, really is an unforgettable classic, and DAISHI DANCE’s “Country Road” got the crowd going like crazy. Kimaguren’s “LIFE,” which SA seems to have remixed recently, was great too.

Nothing more to say, it was magical. Imagine holding off on music this good until 5 a.m… Anyone who went home before then must be kicking themselves.
They wouldn’t let us bring bags in… I couldn’t take my DSLR, so the photos are a mess. Maybe I need to buy a point-and-shoot just for clubbing…
