I got there at 11, but by the time I’d spent a while looking for somewhere decent to eat it was already lunchtime, and every place had a long line. Ugh.. At times like this, there’s always the easy option: McDonald’s.
I ordered the Mega Mac, which I’d been wanting to try for a while.
You need a fair bit of courage to eat something this high in calories and low in nutrition. But today I’d come prepared to walk around all day, so I was confident I could burn this much off, and ordered it.
Does it look good?
I feel like the photo came out way better than the real thing. -_- I used to feel full for the whole day after one Big Mac, but now even a Mega Mac feels like a snack. My eating power seems to have grown a lot over the years. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing..
The place with the longest line is Uogashi, the Numazu conveyor-belt sushi shop.
The line was way too long so I gave up, but in the evening there was nobody there.
The Chinese place next door seems to be doing good business too.
Well.. it’s not like there’s anything special..
Kohada
It was a bit dried out, but the taste wasn’t bad. Places like this prep their toppings before opening, so you have to go in the morning to get good sushi. Next time I should go eat as soon as I arrive.. though whether there’ll be a next time.. probably not, right? If I go, I’ll just go straight to Numazu.
Shako
Mantis shrimp. As expected, not bad for the price.
The house specialty: seared salmon (salmon aburi)
Sushi where the surface of the salmon is lightly seared with a torch. This is worth coming here specially for.
Natto and maguro gunkan roll
I ordered it to see how the tuna tasted, but I couldn’t taste any freshness.. I really should have come in the morning.
There are a few other places too, but not many that make me think I really have to go. At this level, I probably won’t be coming back.
