Wandering around Ginza, snapping this and that.
Manneken, the famous waffle shop
It’s the waffle place right in the middle of Ginza that people line up for. Mind you, the shop is so tiny that there’s no way not to line up..
I bought three kinds.
Chocolate, maple and banana.. The May-only banana was the best. The banana aroma hits you right away, which makes the sweet, lightly crisp waffle taste even better.
Tokyo sightseeing bus
Apparently it’s a 50-minute tour bus around the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station, and it looked like a lot of fun. It seems you board it near the Marunouchi Building. If the weather’s good I’d like to give it a try too ^_^
Oshiruko (sweet red bean soup) at Tatsutano
The gently sweet flavor fits perfectly with the idea of an Asian-style dessert. And the red beans are one thing, but why is the mochi so good..
Anmitsu
It’s kind of like our patbingsu back in Korea. In the photo the syrup isn’t on yet; you pour it over and just spoon it up. Delicious, as expected. It’s pricey, otherwise I’d want to have it all the time.
Dorayaki
200 yen each, and great as a gift. Japanese dessert culture is really refined. With a taste like this, it would go down well anywhere in the world.
A ramen café in Ginza
This place looks good, I’ll have to try it next time.
