Hosomen Santa in Hamamatsu

Santa is a well-known ramen shop in Hamamatsu, and they’ve opened a spin-off that specializes in thin-noodle ramen.

Pretty standard setup.

The ramen

It feels a lot more refined than the original Santa.

The noodles

Definitely thin. I guess some people will love this style and others will stick with the original. I was happy with both.

Prices are reasonable, and there are quite a few freebies too. There were two of us and they handed us three tickets… collect enough and you get things like free gyoza. I guess that’s part of the secret to Santa’s popularity.

The ticket machine

There’s even a student discount… it really feels like a neighborhood ramen shop. It’s not some legendary place, but there’s a reason it’s been doing well for so long.
