I met up with some friends I hadn’t seen in a while in Yeouido. Since it was a long holiday weekend, we went back and forth on where to go and ended up at Mad for Garlic. Well… a safe choice, right..
Hanging wine glasses
I thought they were just for decoration, but they actually use them.. Glowing under the lights, they do make great decoration too, though..
The lighting inside was dim, so the photos mostly didn’t come out well. Well.. maybe it’s just my lack of skill.. Maybe I should open a savings account to buy a new camera..
Today’s wine
A sweet Italian rosé (Bava’s Rosetta). I didn’t know this, but moscato wines are low in alcohol. Maybe that’s why they say women like them. Plus, after 9 p.m. you can order a cheap wine + pizza set. It was a satisfying choice.
Caesar salad.
Ordinary.. Decent portion, though.. I got the feeling the portions have gotten bigger overall.
Lobster cream pasta

Gorgonzola pizza
Took this halfway through eating it.. There was very little gorgonzola in it. If there’d been more, the funk would have hit you right in the nose.. They serve it with honey for dipping. Taste was so-so. Not quite enough to call it a pizza, but not bad to just snack on.
Mentaiko (pollock roe) pasta
I expected it to be salty, but it was just right. Again, so-so. Considering it’s Mad for Garlic, even this much is something to be grateful for.
The service here that day was top-notch. Everyone who came along was happy with it. It seemed to be because the place was empty over the holiday. So even though the food was ordinary, we had a fun meal. But I hear that normally they hint for you to leave as soon as you’ve finished eating. If you’re planning to go, you might want to keep that in mind.
