Comme Moi was originally in Haebangchon, but it looks like they’ve opened a place near Gangnam-gu Office as well. This one feels like the main branch. Anyway, of all the French restaurants I know, it’s just about the best place for drinking wine, and I doubt there are many spots in Korea that do wine-friendly food better than this.
This is the place.
Nice and tidy.
Wine
Starting off light with champagne. The champagne selection was good too.
Escargot
Piping hot.
Bread comes out too…
Got to dip it, of course…
Salad
Endive and even jambon, they really do use lovely ingredients.
Asparagus
In spring, nothing beats asparagus at a French restaurant.
Onion soup wrapped in pastry
I mean, come on…
Onion soup
That sweet onion flavour mixed with the cheese is so good.
I can’t quite remember this one…
There wasn’t a single dish that wasn’t good…
Beef Wellington
It’s a dish you have to order in advance, and it is seriously delicious. The nutty richness of the mushrooms is no joke, and eating that together with the beef and the pastry makes the red wine go down by the bucketful.
Salad
Duck confit
A well-cooked duck leg can’t help but be good, and the fat went really well with the sweet sauce.
Sausage
The sausage was so good…
Pasta
Probably top-tier among the pastas you get at French restaurants. It vanished in no time.
Dessert
This was really good too…
A glass of digestif
I can’t quite remember what it was…
Tarte Tatin
They make the desserts so beautifully too. And they taste great, of course.
Wine list
Looks like there are plenty of good wines…
It’s such an impressive place that I wonder whether many restaurants in Korea deliver this level of satisfaction. I hope they keep it going strong for a long time to come…
