Interior

It wasn’t that crowded… It’s a popular spot, but maybe that’s because it’s mainly focused on takeout. Still, it felt like a nice place for a date.

The base is very thin with tiny chocolate chips added and layered multiple times, maximizing a savory yet crispy feel. There’s so much fruit inside the whipped cream that it feels like the cream never runs out no matter how much I eat. The base wasn’t soggy at all and stayed crispy until the end; I think this is the first time in my life I’ve had a crepe like this. I’ve basically found the best crepe of my life.

It’s still full of cream and fruit. The chocolate flavor paired perfectly too. I ordered the chocolate crepe, and it was quite novel that the chocolate was in the base rather than the whipped cream—it tasted amazing.

I heard this is the most famous udon shop in Toyohashi. Toyohashi-style curry udon is a local specialty, characterized by curry udon and a quail egg served on top of rice with tororo. It’s famous for letting you eat rice and udon at the same time… It sounds like a weird food combination, but anyway, I’ll try to visit when I have the chance, though I don’t know when that will be…

Bread from Hon Chika

Lemon cookies and butter bread. They taste exactly as expected, but the butter bread has so much butter in it that it feels special… I can admit that they are doing a great job as a long-established shop.
