To ring in 2026 I headed off to the airport. Life really is a busy thing..
A view like this
I love it.
Yamazaki
It was my first time seeing the Kogei Collection, and here it is on display. I feel like I have been running into it here and there lately.
Wuliangye
There are Wuliangye bottles I have never even heard of.. I do wonder who buys the ones priced above the duty-free allowance.
A meal
I grabbed something quick, and the taste was just so-so.. maybe the Edward Lee collaborations do not really suit Korean food..
The view at Centrair
Misen
I went to Misen first, but it turned out to be their regular closing day..
So I went to Yabaton instead
It has gotten enormous. This is more like it..
The table
Nice and tidy, so it was easy to settle in.
Draft beer and motsu skewers
The Asahi draft was so good, from the hop aroma right through to the foam. There is that saying about Japanese draft beer being on a whole other level, and one sip is all it takes to understand it. The miso sauce on the motsu skewers was a touch sweet, but the daikon had soaked up the flavor beautifully. Next time I might just order the daikon on its own.
Fried asparagus
This is another treat: fresh asparagus wrapped in pork, catching health and flavor at the same time. Genuinely delicious.. there are plenty of good things on the menu besides the miso katsu.
Inside
They have set the place up nicely for tourists, I think.
