Foods and items I enjoyed in December 2025

Just posting a bit of everything.

Jin-nyeon Shaoxing Wine

Food items 202512.

This is a Taiwanese Shaoxing wine you can buy in Korea. It tastes pretty good if you warm it up. It’s great value for the money, but while it’s used in cooking here in Korea, there aren’t many restaurants that serve it as a pairing. It’s actually delicious when paired with gyoza…

The cafe street in Kkachiul

Food items 202512.

I heard there was a bakery here, so I went to check it out.

A place like this…

But it turns out the owner was injured and the shop was closed… For small business owners, their health is their greatest asset, so I hope they recover well.

The “open run” crowd in front of Palette Dessert

Food items 202512.

The weather was insane that day… I think the wind chill was around -15°C… yet people were lining up like that for an hour… No matter how good the Ddu-jjon-ku is, I don’t know if this is the right way to do things… Koreans are truly amazing…

Yaizu Katsuobushi Ramen

Food items 202512.

I brought this back from Japan, and it’s a flavor I crave every now and then.

Beni Haruka Chips

Food items 202512.

I think I eat about one bag of these every year. They’re so sweet.

Kakinotane Milk & White Chocolate

Food items 202512.

It said the taste was certified by a pastry chef, so I figured that’s why…

The description on the back

Food items 202512.

It mentions Oxytani almonds… The taste wasn’t bad.

Lummy

Food items 202512.

These come out every year, and they’re back again this year… I had to buy one…

Bunja

Food items 202512.

This is called Bokbunja-ju (black raspberry wine).

This kind of alcohol

Food items 202512.

I tried a sample and it was way too sweet… When it’s this sweet, it’s hard to pair with food, except for maybe spicy dishes…
