I ended up going to Idaebang a lot again this time. With such a short trip, I never really get the chance to try a new place.
Side dishes
Simple.
Egg dish
Things like this feel so much like Korean food.
Rice
And the rice is the best, as always..
Stir-fried zucchini
This one is very Korean too..
Tofu dish
A familiar taste.
Stir-fried beef
This seems to be the restaurant’s signature dish, but the beef is the one thing that falls short of Korea. There must be something special about hanwoo beef.
Stir-fried cauliflower
Works well as a substitute for salad. The way chili peppers go into even a dish like this is a lot like Korea.
The restaurant’s drinks list
I took this as evidence of roughly what kinds of liquor they sell. The common stuff sold everywhere is probably the most popular, since no place would deliberately sell expensive liquor that tastes bad. Jiangxiaobai isn’t really my thing, though. Call it a triumph of marketing..
