Jimi Dumpling House in Shenzhen

The area I stayed in was the old part of Shenzhen, so it’s not that there were no good restaurants, but I can’t say I went to any spectacular ones either. Still, pretty much anywhere I walked into was cheap and tasty.. and Jimi Dumpling House was the cheapest and tastiest of the lot, so I went there a lot.. It’ll show up a few more times on this blog..

Cucumber

Jimi gyozakwan.

It wasn’t cut neatly, which actually gave it a better texture.

Tofu salad

Jimi gyozakwan.

In place of a salad..

Fried rice

Jimi gyozakwan.

A bit bland. I guess it’s meant to be eaten with a saucy dish.

Stir-fried eggplant

Jimi gyozakwan.

Delicious, of course.

Shredded potato

Jimi gyozakwan.

Tasty, as always..

Guo bao rou

Jimi gyozakwan.

Crispy and delicious. The thing is, none of these cost more than a few dollars a plate.. Compared to Korea, I’d say it’s about a third of the price.

Fried fish

Jimi gyozakwan.

Less greasy than I expected, and tasty.

Stir-fried beans

Jimi gyozakwan.

Fava beans (soramame) are something I rarely see in Korea, but they turn up everywhere in China. Truly a kingdom of ingredients.

Another thoroughly satisfying meal. Not knowing the language well, and with the food being so cheap, I end up posting on the blog rather casually.. but well.. I guess that’s the charm of travelling in China..
