Petit Tong, a Swiss Bakery in Seochon

I was surprised to find out there’s a Swiss bakery in Seochon. Because I really thought I’d been to just about every worthwhile spot in Seochon. And yet there was still a place I didn’t know about..

A place like this

Looks like there’s a restaurant and a bakery both.

The bakery

Very Swiss.

The breads

Out of these, a bread called Zopf is the famous one, apparently. It’s shaped like a braid, and it has milk in it so it’s soft, they say. So I bought one, and it was delicious. I think I got why they call it the national bread.

I went late, so there were a lot of empty baskets.

Breads and sweets

They mostly use whole wheat and rye. This is what proper European bread is.

The desserts

They all looked delicious. Where do shops this good keep coming from.. Korea really is something.

Rye bread

Petit tong bakery.

This one was a proper rye bread with a good aroma too. The sourness isn’t all that strong, though.

Cows

They were cute..

More cows over here..

Makes you feel like you’ve come out to the Alps..

Anyway, it’s a bakery I really liked.. rye bread is the kind of bread I love, but my family isn’t so keen on it — and yet the Zopf was gone almost the moment I brought it home.. Everyone likes that sort of bread, I guess.. Next time I go I should buy more Zopf..
