I went out to Paju for the day and found that a ton of big bakery cafes had opened up.. so I went and had a look around.
A place like this
Looks like they converted a seriously big factory.
Inside
It really is huge in there. I suppose you need to be about this big before people will bother making the trip.
Like this
Nice and roomy.
The light
They’ve done it well.. though I do wonder whether there aren’t far too many places with this same concept by now..
The breads
It must be popular — the line was long.
The breads
Hmm.. the bread is fairly mainstream stuff, though. These days I feel like you get much the same lineup at any big bakery cafe~
On the way upstairs
This much space is surely plenty.
The breads
All far too familiar-looking..
Breads like these..
Makes me suspect there’s some consultant behind it all.
The breads..
Otherwise it’d be hard to end up quite this cookie-cutter..
The kitchen
Doing meals as well as bread seems to be the trend these days. It is nice to get everything sorted in one go.
Shot from above..
They’ve pulled the space off nicely..
Further in
They’ve made it look like a bookstore.
Anyway.. if you’re going purely for the food, there’s no real need to stop by.. but it’s a good spot for a family outing on the weekend.. that said, the big bakery cafe boom does feel a little overheated at this point.. it’ll probably keep going for a while yet, though..
