I went to Poga, a Chinese restaurant that has been famous for ages.
The place
It is on the second floor.
The menu
Simple. The garlic scape noodles look especially popular.
The kitchen
Kkanpung dumplings (dumplings tossed in a sweet, sour and spicy sauce)
But when I tried them they were spicy, sour and sweet. I have to wonder whether perfectly good fried dumplings needed to be turned into this. It felt like Chinese food made for people in their twenties.
Garlic scape noodles
It tastes close to a bolognese pasta with the tomato taken out, but it is spicier than it looks.. When a dish is spicy with no warning that it is spicy, I think it is because the restaurant is run with customers in their twenties in mind. Which is to say, it is a place where a middle-aged guy is liable to take damage. It is a good restaurant, no question, but I don’t think it is a good restaurant for me.
