I stopped by Myeongdong and took on the challenge of buying a Mammoth (a giant sweet bun stuffed with cream and nuts).
The bread
I had originally planned to buy the Junior (the smaller version of the Mammoth), but apparently the Junior now sells out during the morning. That’s how popular it is. So I waited an hour and bought the full-size Mammoth instead.
A rough size comparison
Just carrying this thing around counts as a workout. I figured a family of four could live off it for a week.. Anyway, it’s packed with nuts and the cream and jam are nicely balanced, so the taste is top-tier among the mammoth breads in Korea, and it even feels like they’re selling it below cost. No wonder it keeps getting more popular..
Inside
The layers here are seriously thick. Even if it’s a hassle now and then, one visit gets you something the whole family will enjoy.
