Patisserie Ongo in Yeonhui-dong

It feels like Yeonhui-dong has gained a lot of interesting places too.

A dessert shop

Patisserie ongo.

It is a shop I have been walking past for ages, but these days the problem is that even if you buy dessert there is nowhere to eat it..

Sewing cafe banul (needle)

Patisserie ongo.

The name is about as literal as it gets.

Inside

Patisserie ongo.

Well now, I had no idea a place like this existed..

The mood inside

Patisserie ongo.

Who knew a theme cafe this big could run on sewing..

Inside

Patisserie ongo.

The space is huge. I did not realize there were this many people in Korea who love sewing.

BARE BREAD

Patisserie ongo.

They seem to do a decent job with bread here too, but there are so many bakeries nearby that I never quite end up going..

A bookstore

Patisserie ongo.

Arrived at Patisserie Ongo.

The display

Patisserie ongo.

I came because I heard they make baba au rhum, and I managed to safely grab the very last one.

Pain de Gênes

Patisserie ongo.

I would guess this is the shop’s signature.

Flan

Patisserie ongo.

I picked up a flan while I was at it, and although it looks a lot like an egg tart, it was simply delicious and left more of an impression than the baba au rhum.. a shop that is good seems to be good at whatever it makes..

This kind of mood

Patisserie ongo.

I got to have another lovely dessert that day as well.

ANNIV

Patisserie ongo.

This place is famous too, but once again I never seem to find an occasion to go.
