You could call it the one and only survivor in the dying Ewha shopping district.. there were tons of people waiting in line too, so business seems to be going well..

I picked up a Nova sandwich, the one with salmon in it.

The filling is packed in and tasty, but the real star turned out to be the bagel itself. It is chewy and gets nuttier the more you chew, and I found myself thinking this must be what an ideal New York bagel tastes like. At this level, I honestly do not know whether I could find a better bagel even by going all the way to New York. People seem to call it one of the three great bagels in Seoul, and that kind of reputation feels well deserved. Next to this, London Bagel Museum barely counts as a bagel..

Sunmaillard, a bakery I spotted while walking through Gyeongui Line Forest Park

Bakeries that look genuinely skilled are popping up all over the neighborhood these days. But there are so many of them that I cannot get to them all! For now I will note it down and visit next time.

This is another bakery that looks good, but all I have is the photo.. with a bit of luck, the day I actually visit will come around someday..
