Kervan Bakery in Itaewon is a well-known place, and I’d been here once before to buy Turkish delight. This time I came to try kaymak. If I’m going to eat it, I might as well do it properly.
Roughly this kind of vibe
There’s bread too, but the main event feels like the desserts..
Ice cream too..
I have a not-so-great memory of it, so I don’t really feel like going out of my way for ice cream..
The kaymak set explained
It actually said simit, pohaca, ekmek, so I assumed I had to pick one of them, but they just give you all three.. Handing over this much for 9,500 won.. I was almost taken aback.
The set
Having tried the kaymak, calling it a fluffy cream cheese bagel would be just about spot on… Saying it tastes heavenly is a bit of an overstatement, but it’s a perfectly good brunch. I didn’t expect them to give this much bread though (even more so given the price..), and they warm the bread before serving it, which made it even better. That said, with this much you could probably pack it up, take it home and split it between three people..
