I heard there was a place in Jamsil with good hotteok, so I went to check it out.

and they make them fresh, one after another.

Served in a cup,

and eating it, I found it was a hotteok with a clean, refined finish, almost like a proper dessert. The dough was tasty, and the balance of the cinnamon-and-nut filling was good too. But on days when I get a craving for hotteok, what I want is something greasier and junkier.. this isn’t that style.

Salted fermented oysters

I picked some up at a nearby market, and they’re delicious. Jamsil still has a traditional market, which seems to make it a nice place to live.
